Ads in Video

According to Mashable, Ustream is testing text overlays ads in the streams. Their ads are semi-transparent and can be closed by users. I am wondering if I leave the ads alone, will they disappear in several
seconds, or just stand there till the video ends? If I am watching 10
videos, one after one, do I have to close ads for 10 times?

I can understand they want to monetize their website to build a sustainable community. But users make their videos which are the most important things to the website, they didn’t ask for anything, but they deserved something. In my opinion, the most acceptable way to monetize a video website is to share revenue from advertisements with the users depend on views or something like CPM. This is also a good way to encourage users to make more popular videos.

Revver is sharing revenue with users, I think it’s doing better and better, the design of the website is better than before, and the loading speed is even faster, good to see that. The reason I left Revver, is I don’t like their manual review part of video, I have to wait one or two days to see my video online. Sometimes I upload a video, is for my blog, I need to post the video on my blog, I don’t want to wait till tomorrow, because my post have to be done today.
