Google Shut Down Google Search in China

Google’s search website in China, Google.cn, has been shut down and is now redirecting to Google.com.hk. All Google search services, including web, news and images were moved Google Hong Kong.

As reported by some Chinese users, if you are using iGoogle, you will not be redirect to Google Hong Kong.

I was expecting Google can make some changes to Chinese web market, but what I’ve seen is Google being assimilated by the Chinese market. I’ve got to said Google didn’t understand web users in China. You know what, many Chinese people told me that they never used Google, some even said they never heard of Google, maybe it’s a right move for Google to leave China, but I can’t help feeling disappointed.

Google Releases Google Buzz

You may already know about Yahoo Buzz, and now Google is going to release Google Buzz, a new social networking feature of Google, which will be integrated into Gmail and available for mobile phone.

One thing attracts me is that Google Buzz will automatically follow 40 people for you. These 40 people will be ones that you contacted most frequently.

Open Source Google Chrome Browser: Chromium

Chromium is the open-source project behind Google Chrome. They are almost the same thing, the main difference I can see between Chromium and Google Chrome is that there is no Google logo on Chromium. And the icon of Chromium is blue rather than colorful as Google Chrome icon .

Chromium offers a green version, which means you don’t need to install to use Chromium. So that, you may put it in your USB flash disk, and run on any computer. You can download Chromium from Google Code, the latest version is under the folder with the name of the biggest number. I downloaded and extracted the chrome-win32.zip file and use the chrome.exe in the folder, everything goes fine. But some people suggest to download the min_installer.exe file.

How to Transfer FeedBurner Feeds to Google

AdSense for Feeds was finally released, I tried to add ads to my original feeds which were burned by FeedBurner. FeedBurner offers AdSense settings, but you need to put the ad codes to your blog by yourself, and it’s not working for me, because I can see the ads not just in the feed, also on the blog, I don’t know why.

And now you can setup AdSense for Feeds in you Google AdSense account. But I found that you must create a new feed with Google, you can’t use your feed from FeedBurner, and if you create a new feed, all your subcribers in the original feed. I’ve been looking for a way to transfer my FeedBurner feeds to Google account, but I failed. I went through FeedBurner website and Google website about feeds, I did the search on Google, but I can’t find anyone talking about this. I finally decide to create a new feed, change my blog to the new feed, and continue to use the original feed. As the result, only new subscirbers can see ads.

One week after that, I found a post on FairyFish.net, the author said he had secessfully transfered his feeds from FeedBurner to Google account. All what he did was sending an email to adsense-support-aff@google.com, and asked Google to get the job done. Here is his email:

Hi there,

Would you please migrate my feedburner account to Google Account.

My FeedBurner Account user name is xxxxx
My Google Adsense email address is xxxx@xxx.com

Thanks in advance

And he received the reply email 9 days later, telling him, he can no longer to use his FeedBurner account to login FeedBurner, all his feeds was transfered to Google, and some other things about setting AdSense for Feed.

Finally, to set up AdSense for feeds, you now need to visit AdSense at http://www.google.com/adsense and choose the AdSense for Feeds option under Manage Ads > Get Ads. (Ads won’t appear in your feed(s) unless set up new ad units for them there.)
